TIMELINE

  • 1988 - Turbine Parts International (TPI) is formed.
  • 1995 - First CFM56 Engine is parted out.
  • 2000 - GE Aviation acquired 100% of TPI and forms GE Aviation Materials.
  • 2002 - Snecma acquires 20% of GE Aviation Materials.
  • 2010 - New company is created as a 50/50 JV between GE and Snecma called CFM Materials, LP.

Based in Grand Prairie, Texas, the CFM Materials, LP joint venture of GE and Snecma is the world's largest provider of used serviceable components for CFM International engines - which power such aircraft as the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 commercial jetliners, as well as the Boeing KC-135R aerial tanker operated by the U.S. Air Force.

In addition to its core operation, the company also sells surplus inventories for CFM International and provides inventory for its parent companies' MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) network around the world.

CFM Materials, LP has a global presence with warehouse facilities located in Grand Prairie, Texas*, Amsterdam* and Singapore*; along with sales offices in Singapore and Cardiff, Wales.

This overall support will extend to the next-generation LEAP integrated propulsion system that has been selected for the 737 MAX and A320neo.

Customers of CFM Materials, LP include MRO's and major airlines worldwide. the company became operational in May 2010, with its main campus located in Grand Prairie - which also is home to facilities for SafranUSA, MicroturboUSA, Sagem Avionics, SMA Engines and TurbomecaUSA.

As a responsible corporate citizen, CFM Materials, LP supports the local community with activities that include its participation in Junior Achievement educational programs - which give students the opportunity to practice cooperation, teamwork, decision-making, and leadership skills during courses taught by volunteers. They also support other local charities throughout the year and are a member of the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce.
